SUNGLASSES, SCHOOL DAYS AND BIOPSIES

>> Friday, September 9, 2011

Hi there - time to update on some of "our" children and the news is good - there has been improvement and days are not so gloomy for their families.

Brooke is doing very well and her page reads:

We are home from a long, but successful day at UCLA. Brooke was not cooperative. After a taste of freedom, she was not going to happily hop into a hospital bed and wear a gown. The actual biopsy went well though and our next one is in a month. Off to bed. :)

We received Brooke's biopsy results and NO rejection! Yippee! Hopefully we'll have the same outcome next month. :)

McKenzie is still struggling and these words from her page.

"Kenzie is on 3 broad spectrum antibiotics. She has a UTI. They are still waiting on more tests to determine the particular bacteria that is causing her issues.

She is feeling a lot better. Please keep praying she is not in rejection. She has a scope and biopsy tomorrow after 2. Michelle is having her double mastectomy this afternoon(scheduled for 1 pm). Also,

Aliyah is having surgery next Thursday to close her belly from her gtube. She had her gtube removed a year ago and her belly has not healed, so she needs to have it surgically closed. This is outpatient surgery that will be done in Cincinnati.  Please be in prayer for all of these requests. Thank you so very much for your continued prayers."

This photograph came through today too - we recognize you Kenzie in spite of the "shades"

Such a lovely smile

Ethan and Eli have started school with all the normal anxieties for families - only this time there is the worry of infection with Ethan- so hoping that sick kids stay home and that he is able to thrive and enjoy his school days.
Mischief in those eyes - happy school days boys,

Your prayers and thoughts are working for these precious little ones whose lives have been improved by the wonder of organ donation and transplant.   Continuing to pray that these little ones and all other children live long and happy lives.

Love and hugs,
Linda.
