WELCOME TO FRIDAY AND GOOD NEWS WEEK

>> Friday, August 19, 2011

Welcome to Friday and there is news in of interest from all over the world which is cause for thanks.

McKenzie is doing well and out of PICA and in a normal room and reunited with her sister Aliyah (some loving and some fighting which is all lovely normal stuff.)  There is still an infection there but they are working on clearing that.

Crosby had a biopsy and has gone home with a change of medication so everyone is hopeful there.   Tater seems to be keeping out of trouble and Ethan has had a trip back to Cincinnati because of infection but there is talk of him going home soon.

Kortni is doing well and back to her normal floor - hiccups along the way with blood results but it is very early days and she is making good progress.   Kelly (her sister) is all systems go for home.

I have been following the liver transplant of Baby Lottie (five weeks old) and she was transplanted in Birmingham U.K. and seems to be doing very well.

Last night it was very special to follow on Facebook the heart transplant of little Brooke - the waiting for the donor heart, the assessment, all systems go, old heart out - new heart in and stitching up and back to her room.   The little heart is beating well in it's new home and Brooke's parents are very aware that their little one's receiving this means that another family is heartbroken over their loss.

These are seven very special young people that merely represent the face of Organ Donation around the world.  They serve to remind me of the generosity of their donors and their families.

So at the end of a "Good News Week" it is with a thankful heart that I send good wishes to you for a great weekend living life to the full.

Love and hugs,
Linda.
