SUNDAY MORNING IN AUSTRALIA - on your feet little lady

Welcome to Sunday Morning in my little corner of the world and the sun is shining today - and there is a song in my heart as I read through messages.

Jean's Saturday post was so positive that it brought joy:

Sat. morning. Last of tubes removed this morning. NG tube gone! Doc wants us to start getting her out of bed. Hasn't stood since first week in June. She has been asking for toys, busy bossing Chuck and I around, and of course watching her videos. RIO new favorite movie. Watch it at least 5 times a day. (No kidding) 

Temps have been hovering closer to normal. Belly still red and distended, but slightly improved. Personality definitely returning. 

Pseudomonus (bacteria) present in surgical wound. Treating with antibiotics. Surgeon informed us today that pathology report negative for rejection, but did contain abnormal cells. Will have to be followed closely with scopes and biopsies as this will make her more prone to cancers. 

We serve The Great Physician! He sustained her life through this ordeal, we will trust Him for everything else. HE IS MORE THAN SUFFICIENT! I am signing off for now, as I get to hold her for the first time in 3 months. Love to you all. Jeanie, Chuck and McKenzie.

And the post on Kenzie's page this morning says it all:

Just talked to Mom. She was holding Kenzie for the first time in 3 months!

Getting this little lady on her feet again and walking is going to be difficult as she has not been on her feet for three months - I know personally how hard it is to learn to walk again, and I am thankful that Kenzie will have such wonderful support from Physiotherapists, staff and her fabulous family.

This has been a long and difficult journey and there are still difficult days to be encountered, but how much more positive is the news thrills me.
